o BNW is a distinct setting leading to super-powered
beings of a particular flavour; this is *not* a
   generic superhero game;

o the basic setting is a fascist America, in which
Deltas (those with superpowers) are oppressed,
controlled, hunted, or otherwise given a hard time.
The Deltas have formed a resistance movement to
fight back, and presumably the PCs would be part of
   it.

Wild speculation: take your pick. With so little
information it's even hard to speculate reasonably...

I suspect they will continue the "archetypes" idea from
Deadlands, but with the power packages I expect the
archetypes may be a little more strict; i.e. you are
only allowed a certain level of variation as far as
powers go.

This wide variability has been sacrificed for a much
deeper backstory and world setting, which should in turn
deepen the characters that are created with it.

Here's a thought: once we have more information about
the setting, we could create a set of "lifepath" tables,
much like Cyberpunk and a few others have done... As
much as people like to have absolute control over their
characters, they like a way to gain outside influence...

Personally, I've got to decide which of the BNW sessions
at GenCon I want to attend.. And its a matter of which
one, not if...
