Re: [BNW] Homebrewed Alphas

Hmmm ... no one knows what the rules are for alphas right now, but my guess
is that they've got something more like 25 dice for starting traits. And I'm
guessing probably more than three power packages and probably every trick in
the book. Well, at least Superior probably did. But he wasn't only the
first alpha, he was also the most powerful. Alphas could beat the snot out
of deltas, but most alphas didn't even come close to Superior. In fact the
only thing that beat him was a wierd sort of bomb set off by Devastator.
And Devastator was probably the next most powerful alpha next to Superior.
But I'm guessing we won't have to deal with alphas for a long time. My best
guess is our introduction to Crossroads (GenCon '01?) will be our first
introduction to alphas. Why? The facts are as follows.

No alpha has "awakened" since The Vanishing which probably means that
something was removed from the world that gave deltas the ability to become
alphas.

The Vanishing was when Devastator nuked all of Chicago taking the city,
himself, Superior and all the alphas from both sides with it. They say it
was a nuclear bomb, but if you read between the lines it's more likely that
Devastator set off something else.

Sure, all the alphas *could* have been killed in the blast, if it was a
nuclear blast to begin with. But my guess is that *something else* happened
to all the alphas. What I don't know, we'll have to wait for Crossroads for
that.

Who knows? It's all just way to much for me to handle!
