Well, let's think of some.  Maybe instead of getting
Fast Learner or The Natural have:

Quick Study- If the hero gets 3 extra successes on an
unskilled roll the character gets 1 pt in that skill.

Also:

McGuyver- With each extra success on an easy
scrounging roll the hero gets a +2 to his next
escape/lockpick/bomb diffusial roll.

And:

Sure I'm a Doctor-  With each extra success on an easy
smarts roll the hero gets +2 in persuasion rolls to
convince other people into thinking he's really an
expert.

Just some ideas, feel free to modify/debate them.
