Although I have a problem with the whole 'nickname for
everything' concept (far too many years of seeing
White Wolf do that), personally, I like Tessies for
teleporters. In fact, I think I'll use a teleporter in
my campaign that calls herself Tesseract, or Tess for
short. It's a nostalgia thing - Madeline L'Engle
introduced me to the concept of tesseracts. :)
