RE: [BNW] What is wrong with BNW?

I tend to agree with Mr. Crow there. Most games today that embrace the plot
more than anything else just give you enough to get the ball rolling and
slowly get you a little more information each time. Vamp is notorious for
this... especially if you consider that it's taken them 10 years+, 3
editions, the Dark Ages line, etc. to completely tell their story. They've
done complete revisions and overhauls and I would think somewhere along the
way they changed things almost completely with the storyline. Matt, I think
has a definite plan as to what he's doing and where he's going with these
stories. I also think there is a reason we don't know everything yet. We get
it on a need to know basis to be determined by the author of the game.
Also... maybe, if we knew, it might take something out of the game. It takes
away some of the novelty too... we know how we got the powers, but why or
where they came from is another matter. I think if the GM knew everything,
it would take away some of the excitement for him too. You can define your
ideas as the current theories behind why the powers surface, and then if it
contradicts what is published later, you can one of two things: either the
theories were eventually proven wrong, or stick with your own plot. There is
nothing set in stone that says you have to follow it exactly. I have my
theories on it and that is part of storyline, but it could change... hell,
retcon's happen all the time.
