[BNW] Finally my game begins....(Long)

And what a night we had!!

The team of heroic young deltas begin with the usual character generation.
Two players were unable to make tonight so I was left with three and a basis
of a scenario to begin.

After 8 months of playing Deadlands (anyone on that list who knows
deadlander - he's my Marshall and boy is he a tough nut!!) I was determined
to make this game be as popular with the players so that we could enjoy
playing it.

What mix of characters do we have?

A Speedster - a very RICH speedster with mansion (took Rich 5 and decided
the others would be old college friends who hang around his place) who
really did not like the tax laws that were beginning to cripple him.

A Teleporter - bit of a crazy coot who has some connection to the defiance.

A Bomber - another Kooky character - basically he has 1D6 Smarts and is size
6 - big brawny and loving playing his character like his Deadlands
character - big and mentally challenged as he put it.

The two who couldn't make it are a snuffer and a Gadgeteer.

Back to the game.

They start off watching the news about a delta who destroyed the top few
floors of a building in their local city a few days previously.  I knew they
were going to be heading out of town so a roadblock hunting this delta down
was in place.

I was going to show them what DP were like - nasty.

Rule 1 - Players will always do the unexpected.

They decided to haul their unregistered bodies into helping this bomber
escape.

The DP Blaster is taken out by the speedster charging him, the DP Teleporter
is teleported by the PC 'porter into a wall and the bomber blew the heck out
of the snuffer and 6 Reg cops at the road block.  They did a quick scarper
move and hid out for a day and left town - they made some pretty good rolls
and did some convincing RP to escape.

Anyway, they eventually arrive near Atlanta to investigate some
disappearances, one PC working for the defiance, the Bomber in the group
catching the attention of the Delta Warriors.

The night ended with them fighting 3 Deaders.

The Speedster is out cold after being bludgeoned into unconsciousness with a
baseball bat and the other two having to calm the small community down and
explain the 3 dead bodies with bullet holes in their heads!!

It was a change, after a slow start, the players really got into their
characters and the history that I have done for them (all 6 pages) pretty
much set them up.

Of course, now we have started, questions to the list will follow,
especially from the horrendous Bomber - after armour from the Primers - not
all wearing Armour - taking 7 wounds massive and the bomber going oops I
didn't expect that big a bang!!

Eventually he came out with the immortal line - 'I snuffed the Snuffer!'

Anyway, I guess this is time to really get into being on the list and not
just reading the marvellous posts so I knew what I was doing when I started
to run the game.

What I have read from everyone has helped me and my players enjoy our first
gaming session.

Kudos to one and all.

Hopefully I can now get into this asking questions and possibly putting my
views across, seeing as how the ball is rolling...
