Having to ewith the comment above:
I new at this so bear with me, I just finished my first BNW mission and it
was a "disaster/rescue" adventure. It started with a list of news reports
that they hear on the news that morning, I had 5 of them. In the reports I
had 2 that were important to the adventure. (A Defiant leader wasn't put to
death, but life in prison and Explosion in the subway near an Information
bank.) Then they were told that they had some character time if they wish
to use it.
When they were done, each of them were notified of a hostage situation at an
Information bank down town (It had the same address as the subway explosion)
it was 12:00pm. They were told to meet in a parking garage in the basement,
upon arriving a briefcase was sitting there and held the debriefing on the
situation: there's about 50 hostages, list of demands; 1.Defiant leader to
be placed in the bus, 2.two billion dollars to be placed on the bus, 3.747
to be gassed up and ready to go, the terrist is a group know as "True Prime"
headed by a man named Bain, and that they had two hours before he started to
kill people, it was 12:10pm.
The team had in it: a tempest, gadgeteer, scrapper, two tough, nullifier,
and a bargainer. They ran to the scene to scope it out and saw that the
police had everything blocked off. The front of the building was all shot
up and there was a greyhound bus horizontal to the building (someone made a
good perception roll and asked how easy was it to get the bus there and was
answered "not easy at all the driver had to work at it".) After they were
done looking around they decided to split up and meet back together in the
building.
So the tempest went through the front door, the scrapper and bargainer broke
into a building and went through it to the alley to find a hydraulic lift to
the basement, the rest went to the roof tops and made a lot of rolls jumping
their way to the building next to the 20 story building the hostages were in
and the gadgeter took turns flying them to the roof.
Well to make it short, they went through the building and got into many
fights and got enough clues to figure out that the bus was the first bomb
and it was to make the building front fall on the police. The second bomb
was the fourth floor and when it went off it would turn the fifth floor into
a slide (that 's is where I kept all the hostages) so the hostages would
fall into the rumble making a big medea display. At this time they had 7
min.
While they were trying to figure this out Bain was packing and shipping
Government and other business' back-up files, computer files down loaded on
disks, and other blackmail stuff into dump trucks to be droven out the
subway.
Well Bain got away, got all the files he needed, and they all got arrested,
but because of them the police's bomb swad (10 defenders) took most of the
blast and kept it down to minimal damage. The team only lost was the
gadgeter who was killed going after Bain who was in an a attack helicopter.
Rest In Pieces.
This was nothing more then a big set up for my next mission for them, which
is they all make new characters and get to interrogate their arrested
characters and go after Bain, for fear that he can blackmail them with the
information he now has.
As far as running a "disaster/rescue" adventure I gust kept reminding them
of how much time they had left and everything kept going. When they started
to stall I just took time away from their dead line (no pun intended).
