[BNW] More Crescent City comments

I got C-squared a few days ago, and was impressed as always with the quality
that goes into BNW books. I like the geography and NPCs given in the book,
although i do wish there had been a better city map (This is purely a selfish
wish ... I am seriously considering getting an artist friend to take the map
and previous sourcebooks and make a gas station style city streetmap with me).
I also liked the power packages, especially the Lazarus and the Paralyzer.
The adventure in the back was a welcome addition as well -- it's always nice
to see how the designer uses his own world.

Now my 2 cents on the Timetripper ... I like it. It does force a little more
bookkeeping but that shouldnt be TOO bad with the size of group I tend to run
for (myself and 2 or 3 others). I am in the process of designing a combat
tracking sheet to allow for the rewind with minimal fuss, and will pass it
along to anyone who wants it. I will post when I have it done ... maybe I can
get it posted on one of the many good websites. Additionally, I can't see a
player waiting several rounds to "affect" the environment, effectively forcing
an instatnt replay effect on the group.

My other solution is to propose a new trick for the Timetripper ...
Hitchhiker. By spending an extra Delta Point (the hitchhiker must spend one
as well) and making a hard Spirit roll, the Timetripper can take someone else
with him. If the roll fails, the additional DPs are still gone. This limits
the trick's use to once per session (twice if the Timetripper is lucky -- and
to be fair, I can't see anyone playing this package without being Lucky).

I am aware this ups the power of one of the most powerful packages in the
game, and begs for abuse by munchkins everywhere. It also limits the use of
the power by raising its activation costs, solving the multiple rewind issue
that some people have used as an argument against the package.

PS: This new trick is also my way of introducing a mechanism i use when
running BNW - spending a DP and making a hard roll to pump the level of a
power, letting it exceed its normal limits. It seems to work pretty well ...
what do other people think?
