That's certainly the problem. You each had three pretty tough guys attack you 
at once. It's no surprise that you got your heads handed to you, especially 
if the dice went against you. 

As for the 1 DP/1 wound level, that's how it's supposed to be. In your game, 
you're welcome to go with 1 DP/1 hit, but you're going to see your battles 
last a lot longer. 

BNW is intentionally a deadly kind of game. I've always found this encourages 
roleplaying over combat, which is what I was aiming for.
