I have to agree with the general consensus here. Drastic physiological
change would be rough on anyone's body. I imagine the hormonal imbalances
alone from switching between sexes would be pretty debilitating. An
exterior, cosmetic change on the other hand, seems to be more of what the
power is all about.

Good question, but one I guess it's up to Mr.. Forbeck to fess up on that
one . . . but it would be a nice "coincidence", no?

For a starting group & GM, avoiding the power packages that require a lot of
fiddling around might be a good idea; the previously mentioned Timetripper
is at the head of that list. Also perhaps the packages that really
emphasize seldom used powers, such as the Smuggler, Forger or Interrogator.

My opinion is that it's no more than a 3pt. quirk, if that. The scars would
be easily concealed by any long-sleeved garment(although extending them
would no doubt ruin the clothing . . . ), and unless they were particularly
nasty-looking, would probably not cause much more notice than tattoos or
birthmarks of a decent size.

Hmmm . . . the Power Shield adventure is a pretty tidy one, at that: it
manages to stress all the points that new players to BNW would need, without
being unfocussed or posing too hard a challenge for beginners. The best
would be to peruse the websites, most being maintained by frequent
contributors here :)

And curse no the Ratmaster! I like that package, although for the life of
me, I don't know why . . .

Free is pretty darn affordable, but be careful what you ask for; you may
find your services in high demand!
