If you've run (or some of the players have read or played it), be
prepared for the "not enough choice" criticism. The power packages are
specifically limited (and somewhat stereotypical), so a combined
emphasis on the unique setting, character concept and righteous
indignation (no matter which side you're on, Primer or Defiant) should
be the preferred tack, I'd imagine.
There are many different settings within the BNW to take advantage of,
and you might want to tailor the game toward their interests. Some
examples:
* Rebels with a Cause: the group is a cell of Defiants, trying to
strike back at the Powers for their injustices;
* Number 1 with a Gun: the group is one of the anarchic groups whom
Primers hold up as examples of why deltas must be registered. (Bad guy
campaign).
* Spies Like Us: the group works for Triumph, or the military, or
some other group, and they do covert missions around the world. (In
some ways, Mutant X fits this...)
* I Am The Law: the group is a Primer team, out to solve crimes
committed by deltas and regs alike; for this one, the team should all
be fully behind the Primer ideal.
* Good Cop, Bad Cop: the group is a Primer team, but they get to see
some of the rotten sides of Delta Prime, and perhaps become turncoats.
* The Land Before (Modern) Time: set the game in the past, such as
the WWII setting that was published, or perhaps during the early rise of
King Jack.
* Weekly World News: the group is made up of (mostly) regs, who work
for a major tabloid/university/Defiant sympathy group, and are
constantly looking into strange stories that might lead to new Deltas or
government coverups.
That's just a few ideas. The setting is rich, and has plenty of
potential to interest many groups. If you want some inspiration, you
can try my webpage (<http://www.geocities.com/encaf1/bnw/>), one of the
oldest sites for BNW stuff. (Of course, it hasn't been updated in..
