Actually I found the Movie X-Men very enlightening. Imagine a similar
group (you'd have to find a good story to make the work together), but
yet without the incredible resouces The X-Men have, working in a
political environment that brands them as Mutants. In addition you
might want to turn to Dark Angel for inspiration and make the work out
the inner conflict of being something "better" and using it to change
things vs. their own desire for anonymity and personal safety.

If you do have the time, play preludes with the players where you set
them into a "normal" life, have them turn delta and rip them from all
they love. If you have good roleplayers (one that are into dense
emotion playing) looking for a new experience, they'll love it.
