[BNW] It Lives! (Was Klingon Spoken...)
Good Heavens!
I registered on this .net several months ago and this is the first message I've
received.
I was aware that BNW was not being produced any more, but was hoping that at least
*somebody* was still out there.
Anyway...
Just for your info:
Long time RPGer, mainly SF
Player and GM for:
Star Wars in it many guises.
Star Trek in *its* many guises, but mainly FASA's version.
Vampire: The Masquerade.
Shadowrun and Cyberpunk ("Shadowpunk" using SR's combat system, CP characters and
scenarios, Car Wars' vehicle combat system, etc.).
and the occasional oddball RPG: Deadlands, Tales From The Floating Vagabond,
Paranoia, Space: 1889 and so on.
Currently GM'ing a Brave New World campaign, writing the scenarios as we go - I'm
currently about a fortnight ahead of my gaming group!
Also Mechwarrior, Car Wars, Necromunda, Future Wars/Combat Zone.
I collect and (very occasionally) paint miniatures.
I design and sculpt masters for resin wargame scenery manufactured by Monolith
Miniatures and Ainsty. Currently making Ancient Greek buildings intended for use
with Crocodile Games Wargods of Olympus for Monolith, and a pipeline/oil refinery
system for Ainsty.
I managed to get hold of almost all of the Pinnacle/AEG BNW sourcebooks, only
missing out on the Bargainers supplement. I'm trying to get a set of temporal
manipulator powers and tricks playtested for balance and playability (the ability
to replay events is beginning to bug me as a GM, since I have to remember all sorts
of little details as we rerun the time loops). If anybody has created or used any
time-travelling tricks, please let me know (I already know about the Tempust powers
and tricks and my Tempust-powered PC has expressed interest in developing these
powers).
And if anybody has any details about BNW's San Francisco (apart from the fact that
it was A-bombed in 1988) I'd like to hear them - my group is hiding out in the
ruins of Haight Ashbury at the moment keeping mutant killer pot plants at bay with
electric charges and flame blasts. It may not be entirely canon, but there isn't
much detail in the sourcebooks and I'm busy creating an environment for my players.
I just ordered a load of Pulp Fiction minis. I fancy using a squadron of
jetpack-equipped soldiers to drive back the Nazi menace from the skies of Europe.
Regards,
RobinH
