Re: [BNW] d20?

Is d20 really a good idea commercially? From what I've heard, conversion to d20 from other systems have not sold well: indeed, most of the non-D&D products have poor sales records.I'm also not convinced that d20 would be the appropriate system for the speed & style of tBNW, perhaps something quicker like Savage Worlds, which would at least allow the Power Packages to be ported across almost as they are, with a few tweaks.

As someone working with Alderac on Spycraft and Stargate, my thoughts would be that BNW would work as a supplement to their Spycraft engine. Instead of the species feats used in Stargate, use "power feats," and then limit Deltas (i.e., your basic character types) to one power feat "tree." Power tricks would then be represented by stuff branching off from the initial power feat.

Without the powers, you've basically got...well, spyish type BNW characters (to keep it simple). No reason you couldn't use the existing Soldier/Wheelman/Snoop/Fixer/etc. base classes.

That's a basic approach, at any rate. Now, if someone wanted to approach AEG about licensing both the BNW setting and the Spycraft engine, more power to them... ;)
