Question for you, a current thread has involved a former character
Blessed working for Grime, now although he's unwittingly working for an
Abomination would this class as a Major Sin and his powers be replaced
with Black Magic (Which he would'nt realise due to the effects in Lost
Angels) or not?

Max,

I would argue that it would not constitute a Major Sin -- or a Minor one for
that matter -- at the outset. The theology behind sin is that it requires
the intent to do evil and the knowledge that you are doing evil. What may
be the cause for Sinnin' rolls would be the very difficult task of sorting
out the good from the evil in a city where the messengers of darkness look
exactly like the messengers from the light. Have the messengers from both
sides begin to appear to the player character in dreams and/or
hallucinations. Have Grime (or one of his underlings) begin to council him
on his visions and the danger of the opposition -- all the stuff about being
tested and tried in the wilderness. After all, a blessed is quite a prize
for both sides of the struggle.

Should the blessed make the wrong choice in a decision, then have the
sinnin' roll. For example, place the blessed in the role of judge over two
women both claiming a child. If the PC instinctively goes for Solomon's
gambit -- let the child be cut in half -- have both women accept the
judgment. Whether one or both are abominations or servants of Grime hoping
to bring the PC over or if they are both insane from hunger and suffering or
are waiting for the other to blink is up to you. No matter what the option,
the blessed now has a major sin to work off -- murder. (Solomon, I would
argue, got away with it because his wisdom didn't point out this as a
solution but because it allowed him to gauge the women involved. If the PC
uses Scrutinize -- I think that's the right skill -- on the women, that will
be a different ball game.)

Hope this helps.

Matt
