Range should be Self.

Not a thing--just that Snake Oil's faster. :-) Largely a case of two
different authors and two different editing teams working on simultaneous
projects.

Cop-Out Answer: Hale 'n' Hearty specifically mentions Jacks in the
description, therefore it doesn't violate the H&H guidelines. :-)

Probably-Closer-To-The-Truth: See answer above regarding different
author/editing teams. ;-)

The Jacks-not-a-specific-hand-unless-noted-proscription stands--unless
otherwise noted. Jacks serve as a probability fix--they stagger things a
little between a pair and two pairs, so if we want to give a hex more
effects at a lower level we use it. Otherwise, it may cause a hex to
escalate to fast.

So, no, hexslingers don't differ from hucksters in this case.
