Well - cursed in a way.

What if his toolkit let him build extra nifty weapons?
 

Every desperado in the county would want him to build
them something - or take something he already had. 
Both the Union and the CSA would want him, not to
mention S&R and the good Dr Hellstromme.

Needless to say, none of these people is going to take
no for an answer.
