From my friends that shoot SASS, a western gun fight group, had told me 
once that C&B revolvers can have the caps fall to the base of the hammer 
causing jamming. Also cheek out the John Wayne, Kurt Douglas Movie "War 
Wagon", Kurt Doulglas wears a padded glove on his left hand, that he used 
to fan the hammer.
