Re: [DL] News propagation

John's suggestions got me poking around http://encarta.msn.com
for information. Searching for "telegraph news" turns up some
interesting stuff. Searching for "Telegraph: Newspaper" takes
you almost directly to an interesting article an the birth of
wire services. It that mentions that newspapers became the major
customers of telegraph companies and formed wire services as a
cost saving measure. Associated Press was founded in New York in
1848. So, I guess that news will propogate fairly quickly to
towns with a newspaper and a telegraph. Those without (little
mining towns), or hostile to external news sources (Lost Angels)
will probably get their news a bit slower.
