Actually...gryph....considering you're in Tennessee....you can pick which
side...heck every southern state during the Civil War (or more corectly War
Between the States) raised soldiers for the United States.

Yeah.  Tennessee was pretty divided but where I live is just up from the
Alabama border so we're pretty deep south Tennessee and this area was pretty
solidly confederate.  Either way none of my ancestors volunteered to go
fight "Germany" during the civil war...
