Only a boost of some sort can raise your traits above d12...you can't buy
them with experience, no matter who you are.  But with Supernatural
Traits, cyborg and scrapper gear, and any number of different edges, it's
quite possible to have scores that high in HoE.
Plus, as far as that being an "unrealistically fast" character," I've
worked out the timing, and even a moderately good runner in the Real
World would have a Pace of at least 12, good runners could have it up to
18 or 20 easily.
