 Yeah!  Damn, I knew I was forgetting one.

 Anyway, you could also take the "drink in a bunch of pubs" approach.  Visit
 different bars, see what makes them different and what kind of atmosphere
 they have, and then flip it backwards and sideways into the Weird West.
 The jukebox becomes a guy on a piano.  The pool table becomes a poker table.
 That sort of thing.  Take inspiration from the real world and warp it to
 fit the universe you want it in.
