[DL] Newbie! (Was: New DL ol' ArM player)
This list is my favorite RPG list. The In Nomine suffered from the same snobbus snootius the ArM list seems to and the L5R/7th Sea lists are usually too clogged with card/RPG disputes for anything useful to transpire.
As for getting in the mood, my first recommendation is film. Unholster your Blockbuster card and pick up any one (if not all of them) before you play. You should have a good idea for a character when Sunday rolls around. And even if you've seen em, it never hurts to do it again.
The Man with No Name Trilogy (Fistful of Dollars, A Few Dollars More, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly)
Maverick (a funny Western that has the same kind of sense of humor DL has..just minus zombies. It inspired my first DL character, the huckster Dallas Darwin.)
The Quick and the Dead (Sam Raimi Version w/ Sharon Stone & Russell Crowe)
Army of Darkness (this is the type of horror in DL. Hero gets scared, runs away, but snaps out of it and blasts dead guys with shotgun)
From Dusk till Dawn (Ignore the Direct to Video Sequels. This is a typical DL adventure. Everything seems normal...and then the vampires show up half-way through)
I'm sure other folks'll add their two cents in as far as films go....but otherwise welcome to town, pardner.
"You see in this world there's two types of people my friend, those with loaded guns and those who dig, you dig."
The Man with No Name,
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
