I have a copy of this book and it is very helpful. 
Although I have to say the section listing the things people actually drank back
then is down right the scariest I have heard about the oldwest. :) The fear
level from watching anyone chug _anything_ that was mixed with a large dose of
tobacco and strictnine "To make you sick cause if it didn't it wasn't good
whiskey." would be pretty decent alone.
