RE: [DL] Newbie question: miniatures
-----Original Message-----
How many of you use miniatures during play? I did a little web surfing last
night and was impressed by the multitude of western figures available in
25mm scale. I hate to sound like a rube, but I am continually impressed by
the variety of Old West games. I fell like the fragile walls of my
fantasy/D&D past, Ars Magica near-past RPG world are caving in.
So . . . anyone's favorite miniature companies and applicable websites
would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt

Matt,
I use miniatures a lot in gaming. It really does make a big difference in
the game. If you would like, I have a website up with some information
about miniatures in Deadlands. The main page is at:
http://home.att.net/~mmdeforrest/deadlands/main.htm
The page includes pictures of PEG's line (I'm hoping to update some of these
pages over the weekend -- I'll let people know when they go up) and links to
and some pictures of Foundry's Wild West figures. Both lines are over
"true" 25mm but blend adequately on the gaming table.
I should mention two handy toys for quick starts: Boomtowns (cardstock maps
of buildings and some furniture) and PEG's cardstock cowboys. While I
greatly prefer the minis, these are great for both ideas (how should x look)
and a rapid move into the 3-D game.
Hope this helps some.
