You should check out Tales of Terror '77. It goes into some depth about
the Civil War. In the DL timeline, Sherman's March was disrupted by
Cleburne's capture of Nashville and the arrival of British and French
warships in Savannah harbor.

Let me point you to http://www.geocities.com/grifflik/ Matt's site - on it
you will find a timeline compiled from all of the Deadlands and HoE books
out there. Top notch work done on this timeline, btw.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that
brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass
over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye
to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will
remain.
