Surprisingly, many women play Deadlands: the Weird West.
According to some data we pulled a couple of years back,
our games had one of the highest percentages of females of
any game. Vampire was higher, of course, but not by
much--at least in the RPG. The LARP is another story, but
in RPG land, we're about as girl-friendly as they come.

Interesting.  Coming from a group with a decent mix, there
have been certain games designated at 'boy games'
(Shadowrun, Crimson Skies, Car Wars).  Deadlands was
written off as such but once session got em all hooked...

Asking the ladies who've played DL, the repeating themses
seem to be:

"We get to kick ass for once."
"It's scary and funny at the same time. We shoot thangs
but then its ok to run away for a while."
"I used to play Cowgirls and Indians..."

Personally, I was goona buy you a beer at GenCon for
getting back in the saddle but I figured the girls are a
worthy bonus.  Just don't steal my Orkworld book again
this year...;)
