>For the Reverend Grimme I'd cast Dennis Hopper or maybe Donald Sutherland
I have yet to see a movie where Dennis Hopper portrays the kind of
intelligence that Grimme has.
Conversely, I don't see either Donald Sutherland as Grimme. My
impression of Grimme is someone who is overtly sympathetic. Sutherland
generally seems too aloof and detached. You need someone more involved,
with more exuberant passion.

One possibility would be Christopher Lee, Ian McDiarmid or even Ian Mcellan.

Sutherland would be good in a role calling for an intelligent but ultimately
dispassionate killer. Two possible roles would be either Stone (if you see
him as older) or the Ghost.

Other casting ideas.
Robards (of Smith and Robards): John Cleese
Mina Devlin: Uma Thurman
