I think that's what  Ross meant; the River of Blood explanation sounds like a 
retcon of an earlier mistake. Frankly, I don't use it either, having decided 
pre RoB that the Baron was actually a woman who pretended to be a man; a 
second daughter of Marie Leveau, which helps explain the bitterness in the 
feud.
