Re: [DL] Passenger Train Economics
I still think the trains would use about 2 - 4 lbs
ghost rock fuel per 100 miles.
Practically every vehical in S&R has a fuel rating of
2. True they use a smaller boiler, but no where does
it say how much fuel any of the boilers use. You
would think the larger boilers would require more
fuel, and the smaller boilers less. The only note is
the Velocipede uses a mini, and gets 150 miles to 1 lb
GR (I think), the other vehicals get 50 miles to 1 lb
GR for the small and medium. No vehicals are listed
with fuel ratios that use the large or giant (sure,
vehicals are listed, but their fuel ratios aren't).
The fuel for locomotives on page 39 are for standard
non-gr trains, so something is wrong there and that
data cannot be trusted as is. The only mention of a
GR train is the adventure in the back of S&R on page
112. It states "it has a high capacity ghost rock
engine which allows it to travel for hundreds of miles
on a few shovelfuls of ghost rock." and also mentions
"The train doesn't require much ghost rock, so most of
the coal bin is empty."
Sorry, don't have any HoE books, can't reference them.
