 Well, the most important thing to keep in mind when running (or playing, I
 reckon) Deadlands is to think of how it happens in the movies.  A fate chip
 negating a wound means the hero managed to twist at the last moment or
 something like that, and the bullet glanced off, doing a flesh wound (hence
 the Wind) but not actually any real damage.  Alternatively, it can hit a
 watch, cigarillo case, Bible, or (as happens to my posse's huckster, who
 developed a compulsion to carry around dozens of decks) a pack of cards.

 By the way, if it comes up, there probably are bullet holes in their clothes.
