[DL] the KnuckleDusters Firearms Shop
Today, while at my local gaming store, (Cipher in naperville!!! Yeah!)
while looking to see if anything new from pinnacle was in, like the
Collegium, I notice this book, The KnuckleDusters Firearms Shop, "A
compendium of weapons for western Role-playing games", by Forrest Harris.
It's published by Knuckle Duster Publications, (www.knuckleduster.com) which
seems to do a line of generic Wild West type solitaire adventures, some of
which were advertised on the back page of the book. I decided to get it.
The meat of the book is five chronological chapters detailing a variety
of guns from 1849 to 1900(really detailed- a page or more for each gun, and
purty pictures), a chapter on accessories(holsters, sights, rifle scabbards,
quickdraws, ammunition, speed-loads), one chapter called "cops on
gunfighting", which interviews law enforcement officers for their view of
realistic gunfighting, and a Rating system to aid in combining the
information in the book to whichever game you play(a specail crib-sheet is
dedicated to deadlands, with the specially thanked permission of Shane
Hensley).
The purpose of this here post is to ask- Has anyone else heard
of/purchased this book? What did you find useful? Did you have any ideas or
epiphanies on the conversion of statistics? and more so, have you purchased
anything else from Knuckle Duster?
