    In WWII, my father's ship was stuck for something like 4-5 weeks with 
nothing but stringy, old mutton to eat. When they finally got re-supply, they 
dumped another 6 weeks' worth of old mutton off the side.
    To this day, my father won't even eat lamb chops. ;)
