OK, I just had a similar character insinuate his way into my posse.  "Phineas T. Rexall" demonstrated an amazing bodily repairing elixir.  The posse LOVED having him around.

As they traveled, they found exsanguinated children.  Eventually the Doctor (now Mad Scientist) got too suspicious when he suddenly got an alchemal inspiration for a healing elixir.  It called for the blood of an innocent.

Needless to say, they were quite non-plussed when they found out they were drinking kid's blood.  They slew the monster, and figured out that he was dissolved in his own blood.

But, they still have sveral bottles of the elixir left.  And drinking the potion without knowing the contents is one thing.......  And besides, the Doctor still has the formula dancing around in his head.
