While Dodge is a little weak, there is a point to its weakness: to
encourage player action rather than reaction. I noticed in one game, when
players kept on dodging they ended up getting whacked by bullets not because
they weren't succeeding but because they weren't shooting back. Dodging
bullets isn't supposed to be easy, but when someone is letting loose with a
Colt-Paterson revolving rifle, it can be a lifesaver. My view on it, is to
generally try to just take the wounds (and sometimes chip the wounds (then
again I'm currently running a Harrowed PC)) unless it's a cannon that's
being level at the character. Another possible approach to fire-fights
includes taking cover. (my PC's have a rep for hiding behind rainbarrels.)
