RE: Re: [DL] Comics of all kinds

Well, there are a few good Wierd West comics out there. Joe Lanslade's Jonah Hex is a good example, and the older Jonah Hex books, even though they weren't as supernatural, were pretty good stories. I plan on having Hex showing up when I start running my own DL campaign.

Antarctic Press's Far West is very well done, although a little 'out there' even for the Wierd West. There are elves, trolls, and talking bears, but the series is extremely well done. I can't figure out why it wasn't collected and published that way.

The DC revival of "Wierd Western Tales" is OK--the anthology format is a bit short to get a good story across, but every issue I've read so far ahs had one good story. Not "worth the price of the comic" good, but some good ideas. You can bet I'll be stealing the central idea of "This Gun for Hire" (issue #1), too.

Too bad about the One-Shot. I think Dealands would make a good ongoing comic, if you found the right writer.
