No, they didn't blow up the town, just the station ...
and the train ...

While the vamps were out collecting food, one of the
posse decided he wanted to immobilize the train, and
snuck into the coal car to place a stick of dynamite
with a 5 minute fuse into the coal. Actually, he
tried to sneak, and botched (he only had 1 die) ...
ended up face to face with the zombie when he got into
the car. Zombies move real slow, and even spending 4
white chips on my part to reroll his quickness, he
still only got 1 action card .. a deuce. The posse
member managed to place the stick, light it, and get
back out of the car before the zombie could react.
Instead the zombie chose to look down, pick up the
dynamite, and remove the fuse. Anton (the character),
a bit peeved he was foiled so easily, raised his
rifle, spent a bunch of chips, and rolled a very lucky
called shot at the stick. We then argued for a bit
over how explosive coal is (as I had the bin full of
coal, and the ghost rock was in the engine part) ...

Which is an interesting question? What happens if a
stick of dynamite explodes over a coal car? I was
under the opinion nothing would really happen, the
players were of the idea that it would be a really big
explosion, or at least the coal would catch on fire.

Anyway, I settled for the fire starting, and the vamps
returning (unrelated, just happened that way). The
characters all fled to watch from a distance, and they
noticed the vamps removing the coal car from the
train, and flipping it off the track. They then
pushed the engine together with the rest of the train.
The players decided to try Project Dynamite Take 2,
and sent in the blessed character (who had several
levels in sneak) with the dynamite all preset. All
she had to do was place it, light it, and run. Well,
she rolled incredibly well (without spending chips),
so I ruled it a go. The engine blew up, big
explosion, massive crater, train station leveled, and
nosferatu scampering away into the country side (he he
he, the players are spending the next several
adventures in a mining town just north of VF, and VF
was the only nearby train station). I could have done
another combat at that point, but it was getting late,
and it took a while for the posse to just put down 4
of those things (ok, it was the Martial Artist who
took all four out with wooden stakes, while the rest
of the posse distracted the vamps with bullets).

Funny aside, Anton (Mr. Dynamite from above) managed
to put 6 bullets in a row from a rifle into the belly
of one of the critters (averaging 3 to 4 wounds each
shot), yet my offhanded nature of ignoring the damage
didn't seem to discourage him from thinking the NEXT
shot might put it down ...

few days when the full moon appears, and the MA's
were-cat curse pops up ... and she hasn't told them
about it yet" Wolf
