RE: [DL] Today in the Old West, August 15th (OT)

1865 - Kansas- General Thomas reports today that nothing has been found
of the party sent to sign the peace treaty with the Comanches, Kiowas,
Arapahos, and Kiowa, Apaches. At first this was assumed to be the work
of these groups but their parties have also mysteriously disappeared.

1865 - Kansas- The remains of the brave peace loving people sent to
bring peace between us and the Comanches, Kiowas, Arapahos, and Kiowa,
Apaches were found today. Professor Hartwell of Peabody Museum and
Harvard University is quoted as saying that some of the bite marks look
strangely human.

1874- Arizona Territory- Chief Desaline has said that in a rare joint
Ranger Indian combined action 119 Indians where captured near San Carlos
Agency.
People near to the action are quoted as saying the Rangers seem unhappy
with the results of the action.
Spokesman for the Rangers deny any such involvement.
