Re: [DL] new utility available

well thx., for the attempt.. but the notebook is only a couple weeks old.
it's runing windows xp, and as far as i know, is upto date, i've had to
install a bunch of upgrades/u[dates and patches for it.

the desktop is also running xp, and it also has been
patched/upgraded/updated.

the notebook has shared video memory, it has only uses about 16 meg of ram
for the video. the notebook's total ram is 512meg.
thew desktop is running about 64 meg of ram, from a geforce 3.

i upgraded both my desktop and my wife's desktop to xp from 98 2nd. ed.
after we both got noteboks that ran xp. it got to be too bothersome to
recall how to use both versions. also xp surprizingly fixed a couple of
problems i had with my dsl modem. it also caused a shutdown error, now
neither mine or my wife's case/tower shutdowns automaticly.

and ifound out the hard way, that xp has a new eula. it seems that my
computer uses it, not me. i just use the computer. i had to buy 2 copies of
xp, 1 for each desktop, so i could upgrade.

I'm not Nick, but I might have an answer. The images are PNG format. A
little newer on the scene than GIF or JPG. Maybe your one browser is older
than the other? I honestly don't remember if there's a specific Windows
hotfix for Explorer to use PNG images, or if it was just one of the many
more generic upgrades. Nor do I remember when Netscape started supporting
PNG.

How do you fix it? Well, either the authors go thru the trouble of
converting images and html to use GIF or JPG, or you could try upgrading
your web browser. Neither are much fun, but that's about the extent of it.

Hmmm. You also mention that you can't shuffle or draw. You browser may not
support the necessary Javascript either. That may be the root of the whole
problem, your notebook is out-of-date somewhat. The joys of the
never-ending-Windows-patch cycle. (You are running Windows I assume, since
it's so freakin' pervasive!)

Hope some of this helps.

Jeff Y.
