Cast iron?
That could be fun, I beleive it can be rather brittle.
Would there not be problems in cold weather? The arm
would allow heat to be lost more quickly making cold a
problem. Old iron and steel also tended to have a
problem with low temperatures becoming much more
brittle than usual.
