[HoE] Black Hat Blues



Ok, I was going to ask PEGHopler about this after reading through the
adventure that came with the Rad Screen last night, but I figured I'd toss it
out to the list and see what y'all said.

Black Hats have chips at the back of their skulls to prevent
interrogation/capture/etc. These chips are also in the weapons and prevent
non-Black Hats from using them.

Could a Doomsayer use EMP on these chips, and if so, what would happen?  Would
they all immediately explode, or have the chips been shielded from EMP
effects?

After that brainstorm, I was toying with the idea of a Junker who got captured
and forced into the Black Hats.  They put one of those brain-bombs at the base
of his skull, and eventually he cooked up a transmitter-doohickey that fools
the chip into not exploding.  So he escapes and takes out the chip (maybe he
whips up a do-it-yourself brain surgery kit).  Could you do this with the
Junker powers? Maybe make a little black box with a Trait, Trade:
Computers/ECM or something?  Or maybe he doesn't take it out, he's got to
carry the little black box with him everywhere and make sure its always on or
he goes boom.

Then I got this adventure idea... the PCs are all captured by Black Hats and
they get brain bombs.  Throw in the "escaped Junker" as an NPC who helps the
PCs escape... for a price, of course.
