RE: [HoE] Re: hoe-digest.19981106

I agree, if you have something that works we'd love to see it. I was just
about to send a message ranting about how Junkers were unplayable at this
point and outlining the problems with the existing system, however, I'd
rather work on creating a set of rules that work.

Just a few of the things that need fixing (in my mind).

Need rules on making parts.

G-Ray collector shouldn't need ghost rock to be created (especially not $320
worth), it's a generator... you put ghost rock in it.

Tinkering skill is never used by junkers. Is this on purpose?

rules for modifying drain, the junk gun uses almost $20 worth of ghost rock
per pull of the trigger....

Damage:
rules for weapons that DON'T generate their own ammo.

damage types (energy/spirit) need explanation.

Sensor:
What about a flashlight?

What's the difference between scan area and area effect?

Trait:
What about armor?

Vehicles?

Are these calculated separately or together (e.g. can you design the body of
an automiton separately from the brain/sensors

Modifiers:

The size chart needs to be tossed.... There is no distinction between size
and complexity in this (among other problems)...

What exactly is a speed of instant for a weapon?

I'd love to try and get some people out there (including myself) to work on
some balanced rules.
