[HoE] Banshee Rifle answers

i like the Banshee Rifle - just a couple o' questions about the nature
of the damage.
if the damage is spiritual, would it affect non-organic elements of an
automoton, or only the head?
the beam penetrates the body slightly before manifesting, would this
negate armour?
could you shoot someone through a car door say, or thin pieces of cover?
would the ammo be in a backpack, or is it contained in the main weapon?
i would imagine with the processing of the ammo, a backpack would be
more appropriate.

The damage is caused by physically-manifested spiritual energy.
Thus, it affects any part of an automation normally. This does not
negate armor on its own...but I did buy 4 levels of AP to reflect how
the beam passes through the outer layer of the target before
manifesting.
The 'ammo' is real small - an ounce of ghost rock, and the
processing unit for it. However, the energy requirements are handled
by a 60-point Spirit Battery. As I envision it, the battery is built
into the gun, rather than a separate backpack. The disadvantage is that
the gun is rather large...I'd say at least a d8 Strength would be needed
to use it without a penalty. Since the gun was designed for
Robohunters, Strength requirements aren't usually a problem.
I modelled the ammo requirements for the rifle on the Plasma Pistol
listed in the Junker rules...and the pistol is a rather compact device.
With 2d20/AP 4, it's certainly possible to shoot someone through a
car door. However, the armor-piercing portion of the shot would be used
up after going through such a barrier.
