Hully crap. Ngn. Ouch. Not lettin' them get aholda that one. maybe for a
big baddie, though. I can see their expressions now (5D20
AP2!?!?!?!).: }

I agree.  Trei Boomstick.  However, the costs in terms of keeping this
thing operating are REALLY high, in my opinion. (not that that's bad;
again, trei boomstick.)  Also, to get the gun up to that oh so
wonderful 5d20 ap 2 (musn't forget the ap 2) a person has to charge
the gun for 6 rounds. (i.e. 30 seconds)  That more than enough time
for the automaton, or mojave rattler, or whatever is worth using that
much spirit energy on, to knock the gun out of the firer's hands and
rend him or her asunder.
Also, another point to consider is that this gun can be jury-rigged to
go beyond the 5d20 point.  In fact, it can go as high as 10d20 ap2
(gulp!) and still function properly (assuming the firer can keep the
gun from blowing up in his hands)  If that worked, one could probably
take a rattler in one shot!
Oh, BTW, the robohunter archetype comes equipped with said boomstick! 
Better keep that character outta reach of the munchkins.
