The closest Deadlands comes to detailing weapon reach is it's defensive bonus, and that suits me
quite well.  The lance could have a really high defense bonus, maybe as high as +5, but would be a
totally useless weapon as soon as the opponent got within a certain distance of the wielder.
I've said this many times about junkers, and I'll say it again.  Junker technology is not meant to
invent sleek, streamlined, aerodynamic machines.  It's big, it's usually unportable, and it's
clunky.  Your average junker has to be holed away in an abandoned train station or something just to
keep all his inventions together.  He's not running around with MiB devices up his sleeve.
