Well what i've done to get my group into a small bombed city. Was make sure 
they had never heard of the city. So no bad rumours, give them a couple of road 
signs to an army/air force base or something equally interesting. And finally 
forece them into a situation such as..

"We don't know what will happen to use if we go into the city. But if we stay 
here we know what the cult will do to use."

So far not much has happened except that the harrowed memeber of the party now 
has a major phobia of dead things. (Failled terror roll when he say some 
walking dead.)
With wich i'm gonna have loadsa fun...
