It started with the posse being residents in a survivor community in Arizona. One night, there were
sounds of battle coming from the highway near town. The next morning, the mayor decided he wants to
make sure the battle won't endanger the town, so five names are selected at random from the
townsfolk to go investigate, and make sure the winners of the fight aren't going to head to town.
Lo and behold, the PCs' names are picked.
On the highway, they see the bodies of three green-robed doomsayers, about 6 vengeants, and 3
Grundies. There's spent shell casings all over the ground, and tire marks leading east. Two of the
muties were carrying something on long poles, which was obviously taken, as were any weapons
(besides the great Axes carried by the Grundies). Spraypainted over the whole scene was the logo of
a local road gang. As a side note, the road the Doomies were attacked on curved from the east to
the northwest, and eventually headed straight into Lost Vegas. But for now, they tracked the road
gang east.
Near a cloverleaf intersection, they found Junkville, a scraptown that was basically run by the
Angels (the gang they'd been tracking). Basically, it was a post-apocalyptic Tombstone, with the
Angels as its Cowboys. The Junkvillians had blown up all but the two exit ramps that lead right
into their town. After exploring the town for a while, they learned that the Angels ranged all over
Arizona and parts of Utah, Nevada, and Texas. The attack on the Doomies was lead by a ganger called
Hawk, and he had the box in his trunk. However, before they could get any more information, they
got in a small fight with the gangers and killed about four of them. One with a pistol, three with
the bumper of a Mustang at 30 mph.
After moving to a couple hideouts and doing several hit-and-runs on gangers to steal their cars, the
Syker of the posse decided to infiltrate the town, disguised as one of the gang. He found out that
Hawk broke from the gang, and took about 15 members with him. They decided to form their own gang,
with Hawk as the leader. He was last seen headed north, so the posse started driving that way to
find him...
That was the first session.
Marshal's Notes-SPOILERS
Now, the big secret is that the box contains a powerful relic for the Cult o' Doom. It's the brain
of Albert Einstein, preserved in formaldehyde. Basically, it's their version of the Ark of the
Covenant. Good thing is, the road gang stopped it from reaching Lost Vegas and Silas. Bad news is,
Hawk found out what it could do, and that's why he split.
My big problem is keeping the box out of the posse's hands, for their own sake. As soon as they get
their hands on it, they'll open the box, and probably be turned into blast shadows on the ground as
soon as they do. Last night, they eliminated the renegade gang members, but Hawk escaped with the
box. Now, they're going from the frying pan into the fire, then into Hell. Junktown has been
utterly destroyed by a Cult o' Doom posse and a Doombringer, and the posse has only seen the flaming
wreck. Also, a man named Leonard Biggs has been told to keep an eye out for a mysterious box...
This is why I like being a Marshal
