Ah yes, good point. I'm a player in my friend's Weird West game, so my
early Deadlands history is sketchy at best.

Still, as for LostColony, here's an issue to ponder:

Why did the Tunnel go to Faraway? Being from Hellstromme Industries,
the location was probably chosen by the Reckoners. If this is the case,
there are a few possible reason (some already hit upon by others):
-To have a foothold into another planet for "Conquest" (Being one of the
other horsemen names from the classical times, along with "Slaughter").
-To have a fallback point (assuming they have more influence there;
maybe Faraway is in the Hunting Grounds?).
-To reach and destroy the one thing that can defeat them (Perhaps
Faraway is to the Hunting Grounds as Heaven is to Hell?)

Of course, it's entirely possible that the location choice was simply
the work of humans.
-Perhaps Hellstrome was able to shake off their control for a moment
(Used some element of his connection with the Reckoners to know
something of their weakness and open a tunnel there?)
-Perhaps the location was chosen by a "higher power" (to even the odds?
Faraway and Sykolite is where the "good" souls go, rather than the
damned going to GhostRock?)
-Faraway is the only other inhabited planet in the universe, and thus
the only available option (unlikely, in my opinion, but not impossible).

One way or the other, the Lost Colony is bound to be the end of the
trinity of series that will include the key to fixing everything.

My personal theory:
The book says Hellstromme went off on his own; I think it was to the
Lost Colony, to find a way to fight against the Reckoners. Maybe he
tried to cut a deal with the higher powers of the Banshee system, and
accidentally "played Raven" with their equivalent of Manitous? PEG has
promised a helluva show when Hellstromm is brought back; this could
certainly be it...
