Okay, all of that sounds realy cool, and Im as big a SW fan as
anyone... But, It seems to me that there are enough strange
types roaming what's left of the West. What I find very interesting
is that not two days ago I made up a character for HoE (an NPC for
my up comming game) who has the same malady as your
character. Yes, he is under them impression that he is the last of
a dying breed. He also thinks that if he can just figure out how to
build a lightsaber, he can prove to everyone that he is a Jedi Knight.
When in fact, he's not a Jedi. He's just an old electrician from
around Phoenix, AZ who survived the march of Death across
Arizona. He's realy guilty for managing to live through something
that no one else did. (to his knowldge, anyway.) He feels like he
should have been able to help those poor, poor, zombiefied folks.
These are his stats if you care...
Jaydon Dunestrider (aka Al Mertz electrician)
Age: 42
Male, caucasian
Hinderances:
Loco: -2, batty ( I AM a Jedi, I CAN feel the Force )
Law-o-the West: -3 ( he thinks he can remember the Jedi code)
Death Wish: -5 ( he should have saved those folks, now he must
dedicate himself to fighting the Dark Side and if he's lucky, maybe
he'll be redeemed. If not, at least he died for a cause.
Edges:
Brave
Heroic
Red Joker: Arcane power : Celerity Lv 1 (being the Marshall, I
can do that...)
His stats would take up too much room, if you want them just mail
me...Anyway, I think this is a neat character concept because it
has personality. That and he makes good comic relief, as well as
decent back up if the PC's get in too deep. He doesn't get any real
benifits for believing in the Force, except for the Celerity for his
Joker. I did that because that is how he explains he is a Jedi. "I
can sense when someone is about to do something, and act before
they do. Surely, that is the Force." This makes for a fun, as well
as unique character that I hope to be able to play in a game later.
As for now, he's content to be a small-timer in my game.
On a side note about Phobias and stuff: They are my favorite
hinderances because they add depth to a waster's persona. Some
of the coolest heroes ever had things they just hated.
