[HoE] Last Chance

Hi everyone,

The ballots forf the Origins awards are due tomorrow. If they're postmarked
today, they just might make it before they're actually counted.

I'm asking all of you here to please vote, especially for HOE as a write-in.
I don't like having to ask, but as it was mistakenly left off the ballot, our
chances are greatly reduced.

Why do I care so much? Two reasons. One of course is personal pride. We put a
lot of work into HOE and I think the collaborative effort has made it the
best post-holocaust game ever. There's some bragging there, of course, but
most of the good stuff, as with the Weird West, came from many other talented
people like John Hopler, Hal Mangold, Matt Forbeck, Steve Long, Jay Kyle, and
so many others.

Number two, I don't know of a time in rpg history when someone took an
award-winning, top three gameworld (the Weird West) and blew it up. We
promised a Big Secret in Aug. of '98, we delivered, and I don't know of a
soul who's ever said they were disappointed. As a gamer, I think that's
revolutionary and deserving of a little attention for taking such a chance.

I also understand there has been an effort to get Fire & Brimstone as a
write-in for Best Roleplaying Supplement. I *fully* support this movement as
I think John Goff did an incredible job with F&B. I've sent in my ballot with
this write-in already, and I encourage you all to do the same.

So I'm asking one last time for everyone to send in a ballot. Get your
friends to send in ballots, too. You can put multiple ballots in the same
envelope if you want. We really want to keep our streak running, and the
unfortunate fact that we were left off the ballot severely inhibits our
chances, so I'm asking for your help.

Sincerely,

Shane
